IPAF Training – Comprehensive MEWP Safety Courses

At UK MEWPS Ltd, we offer a full suite of IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) training courses designed to ensure safe and compliant use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) for operators, managers and demonstrators. All courses meet the highest industry standards, providing participants with the necessary skills to operate MEWPs safely and obtain the globally recognised PAL Card.

IPAF Training Courses Available

IPAF Operator Training (3A & 3B): The IPAF 3A and 3B Operator Training covers essential skills for operating scissor lifts (3A) and mobile boom lifts (3B), including cherry pickers and articulating booms. This training includes classroom sessions, practical exercises, and assessments, ensuring participants are prepared for safe, effective use across varied project sites.

MEWPs for Managers: Designed for supervisors and project managers, this course covers critical topics like risk assessment, platform selection and emergency procedures. The course is available in-person and online, equipping managers with the knowledge to oversee safe MEWP operations on-site.

Static Boom (1B) Training: This course focuses on operating van-mounted and other static boom lifts. Participants learn pre-use inspection, safe operation and positioning, making it ideal for those managing fixed-location tasks.

Push Around Vertical (PAV) Course: The PAV course is tailored to operators of push-around MEWPs, covering safe use, inspection and movement in tight, indoor spaces—ideal for maintenance and low-level work.

Harness Use and Inspection: Critical for operators who rely on harnesses for fall protection, this course teaches participants proper harness usage, inspection, and maintenance to ensure compliance and safety in elevated work.

Demonstrator Course: The Demonstrator course provides instruction on familiarising operators with MEWPs, covering pre-use checks and safe operational practices. This is an advanced course ideal for individuals responsible for onboarding new operators.

Load & Unload Course: Focused on the safe loading and unloading of MEWPs onto transport vehicles, this course is designed for operators handling equipment transfers on beaver tail and slide bed trucks.

Certification and Digital PAL Card: Successful completion of these courses grants participants the IPAF PAL (Powered Access Licence) Card, valid for five years. The PAL Card, available digitally through the IPAF ePAL app, is globally recognised as proof of operator competence.
